Self-Checkout VS Cashiers

And I thought I was the only one who hated self-checkouts at the grocery! I won't do self-checkout because there's no incentive to do the store's work for them. I am not and don't want to be the expert on weighing produce and picking out the the right price for each produce item, the store is. This video was great because in the test that they did they bought the same number of items but the one who went through the regular checkout got her 20 items checked out in about 3 minutes but the same items through self-checkout took 9 minutes and the guy was overcharged because of punching in the wrong produce code! If that lady in the regular lane had had her items with the barcodes up in CRESBI crates the checker could have been even faster! Can someone tell me why stores put so much money into these expensive self-checkout machines when they could try a CRESBI system and make the regular lanes so fast that we wouldn't even need self-checkout?
